July June

1. BEERBUSTERS - The area is being regularly patrolled and local residents are being kept updated regarding partnership activity and proposed Neighbourhood Watch Schemes in the area.  PC Allen and Stan Mitchell from Pr1me focus have done a visual audit of the area surrounding Beer Busters and an environmental clean up is to follow.  

   

2. DEEPDALE ENCLOSURE - A Pop (Problem Orientated Partnership) Plan has been submitted by PC Ashley Gibson and PCSO Andy Garner. The area has been continuously patrolled and some favourable feedback has been received regarding Police visits to the area. 

 

3. STREET SEX WORKERS - A policing operation has taken place involving officers from the Division led by the Fulwood Sector.  PC Allen has maintained links with the Street Link Project during this period to assist with any communication issues between the Police and Street Link staff. 

     

 

May

1.Piri Piri Restaurant-

 

This continues to be a reported problematic area for all concerned.

 

The situation as at present from a Police perspective is that the Restorative Justice Process outcomes that were agreed at the RJ Conference are to be assessed.

The Police Licensing Sgt has been updated and has spoken to a representative of the local residents regarding the general situation.

There have been some issues during the past month involving the respective parties that have been brought to the attention of the local Neighbourhood Policing Team.

 

 

2. Area around BeerBusters-

 

The area has been subject to numerous reassurance patrols by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team and other resources.

As previously mentioned the Saints Mini PACT Meeting was well supported and there is a depth of feeling that a community association group will be most useful for making improvements in the general area.

In relation to CCTV according to the contractor concerned it is possible to link a system from the proposed Meadow Street site to the Saint Pauls Road (BeerBusters) locality in the future.

 

 

 

 

3. Deepdale Enclosure-

 

PC Ashley Gibson a Preston Response officer has taken ownership of this problem supported by PCSO Andy Garner from the Neighbourhood Policing Team. The officers concerned will liaise with local residents whom have complained about the problem.

A POP (Problem Oriented Partnership) Plan has been submitted and relevant actions will be recorded during the term of the project.

High Visibility patrols have been conducted and several persons have been moved on by the local neighbourhood policing team and response officers. This has included persons under the influence of alcohol.

Deepdale residents Association have sent their support for the removal of the telephone boxes on East View.

PCSO Birch gave the latest update from B/T regarding the cost to remove and make right the area. Each telephone box would cost £6,000 to remove.

It was suggested that in view of County Councillor Patel showing a previous interest in this matter that all the paperwork referring to this matter be forwarded to him. County Councillor Patel could then take this forward via BT on behalf of the residents.

Prostitution- Angela Davies from Street link to address the meeting.

Angela Davies- Street link.

Pc Allen introduced Angela to the meeting who gave an overview of the work that is carried out by the Street Link project. Angela did make a point of asking the residents for any information and the telephone number to contact her direct is Preston 555925.

Beer Busters- High Visibility patrols have taken place since the last meeting and are on going which include links with the community.

Royal Pir Piri- Headway is being made and a report back to the residents will be given in due course.

CCTV for Meadow Street is still being progressed with further meetings being held with Marie Englishby and a company to discuss the best site placement for the cameras

Police are continuing to monitor the situation. PC Neil ALLEN stressed the importance of community intelligence

Cromwell Street – Lighting issues and parking/clamping problems.

Shepherd Security started the work on the lighting today (01/08/07) and is due to be completed by 10/08/07. It will hopefully be finished by the next PACT meeting. Nigel spoke with the clamping company that cover the Cromwell Street area and advice has been given with regards to the attitude of some of the operatives. They have stated that they will enforce any infringements of the parking restrictions in place.

 

East View – Speeding and Parking issues.

Details were passed to the Road Policing Unit at Preston. There have been no incidents of speeding since this report, however the area has been subject to increased patrolling and a meeting is set for Thursday 2nd August at the Catherine Beckett for all parties connected with of has an interest in the East View and Piri- Piri restaurant issue.

 

Deepdale Enclosure – Dog fouling, littering and ASB.

A number of persons have been stopped and spoken on the enclosure and advised as to their behaviour. The PCSO’s have now got the penalty notice tickets to issue to anyone found committing the offence.

 

June

East View phone Box re suspected drug activity – Information has been passed on to the Neighbourhood Policing Team. Various known drug users have been seen in the area and stopped and searched with a negative result. Details have been passed to the relevant police departments to be actioned accordingly. Requests were made regarding the telephone kiosk on East View – Councillor Valli had made enquiries with BT but they had stated the kiosk was too profitable to move. But incoming calls have been barred. – Nigel to make enquiries re call barring or re-locating

 

Street Prostitution in the Deepdale area – Details have now been passed to the new CBM for St Matthews Ward PC Mark Burns. Who has now since made contact with the residents on Fletcher Road and introduced himself. The information/evidence gained by both areas will be shared and acted upon accordingly.

 

East View restaurant on going problems. The main issues are the parking, obstruction and perceived speeding. It was suggested that it could be resolved by a full Restorative  Justice conference involving the owner/management of the restaurant, residents, emergency services, councillors, Preston City Council (parking).  Nigel Selby will progress the RJ conference.
